Seniors, refresh your driving skills in this one-day, 8-hour driver improvement class.
You will learn:
defensive driving strategies
new traffic laws
maintaining proper following distance
minimizing the effect of dangerous blind spots
limiting driver distractions such as eating, smoking, and cell phone use
properly using safety belts, air bags and all car features
effects of medication on driving
maintaining physical flexibility
monitoring the driving skills and capabilities of yourself and others
This course also contains up-to-date information about changes we go through as we age, to our vehicles, and our roads with emphasis on Virginia State Laws. This awareness promotes safe driving behaviors and minimizes the chance of committing a traffic violation.
REMINDERS:
This ONE-day course has a working lunch so please bring a bag lunch, drink and maybe a snack. There will not be time to leave the facility during the class. You must be present for the entire class time and will have breaks throughout the day.
DVD video is closed-captioned.
There is NO behind-the-wheel driving with this class.

If AARP member, bring your member card/ID
Must bring your current valid Driver's License
Pen/Paper (or something) for notes
This fee covers cost of your guide book, DMV manual, and completion certificate.
Upon completion, you could receive a multi-year discount on your car liability insurance that is good for three years. (at the discretion of your insurance company). Make sure you leave the class with the appropriate information to give to your company.
