What's Included

Students will be immersed in the world of clay; everything from prehistoric clay working methods, to the modern work of artistic ceramics. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills using the pottery wheel, utilizing sculpting and handbuilding, as well as learning technical aspects of clay including where it comes from, how it’s used how it’s recycled and eventually turned into a finished piece! During this program, students will explore different glazing and firing techniques including building, loading and firing a traditional Japanese Raku Kiln. Students will be directly involved in the magnificent process that brings this dance with fire possible. Safety precautions will be set in place so that students can have a blazingly amazing time. Please note: this is a 10 week Course. Closed for April Vacation (No Classes April 18-24)

Artists' Exchange is a 501(c)3 non-profit arts collaborative whose mission is to create an atmosphere in which creativity, learning and discovery converge and individuality is celebrated.
