About this event
Description
Whether you’ve never before had the opportunity to act, you haven’t touched a stage since high school, or you’d like to increase your confidence, this class aims to equip potential actors with new skills (or brush up old ones) so that they feel ready and excited to audition for shows in and around Corvallis.
Please note: this class is located at the Walnut Community Room, located at 4950 NW Fair Oaks Dr, Corvallis, OR 97330.
As such, this material will focus more on practical skills than any particular “method” or philosophy of acting. At the end of the five 1.5 hour sessions, the intent is that students will have a comfortable grasp of the following skills: projection and diction, awareness of space and body, basic textual analysis, character physicality and voice, and working with a director and audition preparation. Taken together, these skills should give anyone the confidence they need to start attending auditions and enriching our local theatre community.
