About this event
Join Bushcrafter Jo for a weekend of beginner bow making. These beginner bows are made with minimal tools, but can be capable of taking small and medium sized game! From Jo: Bowmaking is a journey that often has a very rocky start. If you make bows, you break bows. I can not guarantee that you will leave this class with a functional bow, but I can guarantee that you will leave with the knowledge to make one. I will support your bowmaking journey and do my best to ensure you have a functional bow at the end of class. One day will be spent building beginner bows and the second will be spent building arrows and practicing our archery skills. We will build sharpened wooden tipped arrows, but if time allows will demo knapping and hafting. We may venture to Avery Park for foraging supplies (10 min walk). Bring your bushcraft knife if you have one and any feathers you may have, as well as water and lunch. Supplies will be provided. This will be a small class to provide ample support time and resources.
