What's Included

Instructor: Don Sell Learn how to safely use the woodshop at the Columbus Idea Foundry. This class will instruct participants on how to set up and use the woodshop tools properly. The instructor takes you through the steps one might use to create a wood project. The class covers setup and safe use of the: 6” jointer 12” Surface Planer 10” Cabinet Saw 12” Cutoff Saw 14” Band Saw Oscillating Spindle Sander Router Table with Router lift 24”/44” Drum Sander Panel Saw After taking the orientation, CIF Members are eligible to use the woodshop for their own projects. The Columbus Idea Foundry is Ohio’s largest community workshop, maker space, and learning center.  We offer variety of conventional and high tech tools: wood shop, metal smithing and foundry, laser cutter & engraver, CNC ShopBot, electronics, jewelry, warm glass, photography, and more.

We are home to 20 in-house artists, artisans and small businesses, have a rich network of more than 150 members including 50+ entrepreneurs.
