What's Included

Learn how to use reclaimed bottles for basic glass slumping projects for art or crafts. We'll talk about how to prep bottles for slumping,devit techniques, deciding on and preparing a mould shape for slumping. We'll also discuss why you can't mix glass materials and varying melting points of commercial glass. Make cheese plates, business card holders, butter dishes, etc! Learn how to program the glass kilns, and how to load the kiln for the desired results. Students will slump anywhere from one to three bottles depending on class size. Students will schedule a pick up date for their completed pieces at least 24 hours later.

About This Organizer

The Columbus Idea Foundry is Ohio’s largest community workshop, maker space, and learning center.  We offer variety of conventional and high tech tools: wood shop, metal smithing and foundry, laser cutter & engraver, CNC ShopBot, electronics, jewelry, warm glass, photography, and more.
