WRRA Stakeholder Membership 2020
The Stakeholder Membership has taken on new significance this year. Social distancing rules (Covid-19) have precluded all rowing activities for Western Reserve Rowing Association except for sculling in singles. As such, there are large numbers of people who would normally be WRRA members but have not had the opportunity this year. The "Stakeholder" membership allows any such person to become a member, support the club and participate in the board of director elections.
Western Reserve Rowing Association provides and promotes adult competitive and recreational rowing for the Northeast Ohio community through quality programming.
The "Stakeholder" Membership is available to any non-rowing individual, age 18 or above, who wishes to be a fully engaged "stakeholder" in the mission, programming and volunteer needs of Western Reserve Rowing Association. Any such person may elect to become a "Stakeholder" member by completing this registration including payment of the associated Basic Membership Fee ($60). This membership includes full voting rights (and any other rights reserved for members as described in the Code of Regulations) on matters that come before the membership including the election of Directors at the annual meeting in November. Stakeholder Members will have the option of running for elected governing positions after three years of membership.
Any Stakeholder Member who wishes to row, must join a WRRA rowing program, and in the process pay additional membership fees to become a "Regular" rowing member of WRRA.
All will be required to sign our Membership agreement as well as any waivers presented for signing. All Members must honor all rules, regulations, and policies of WRRA and The Cleveland Rowing Foundation. No Stakeholder Member will have the right to use any WRRA or CRF equipment or Facilities, with parking, attendance at meetings or any public events at the boathouse being the sole exceptions.
The WRRA Board of Directors reserves the right to limit the number of non-rowing Stakeholder members.
USRowing has joined the United States Olympic Committee in its SafeSport campaign aimed at raising awareness, stopping child abuse in sport and creating a safe culture in sports programs across the country. As a member of US Rowing, WRRA has adopted a SafeSport policy designed to promote an environment free from bullying, hazing, and all forms of harassment. While WRRA is primarily an adult organization, we have a limited number of youth involved in our programs, and we share our boathouse with several scholastic rowing organizations. We share the commitment to creating a safe environment for the entire boathouse community.
Please take a moment to review the SafeSport policy available on the Safety page of WRRA's website.
Stakeholder Membership requires the WRRA Basic Voting Membership, which will be automatically added to your cart during registration.
Note: Sales tax (8%) along with a convenience fee of $1.25 will be added to each transaction. Other registration service provider (ActiveNet) fees (3.24%) are included in the program cost.
The Volunteer Deposit will be waived for 2020 due to the restrictions and uncertainties associated with COVID-19.
