Several race directors around the state have come together to create, promote and direct a really fun No Run Run to honor those running friends we have made over the years that passed away in 2018. Each year we will honor those running friends who passed away that year as well as remember all the others that preceded them. Net proceeds of this year’s event will be donated to the local Humane Society in honor/memory of our friend James Baldwin.
Part of the fun on 12/16 will be to see runners in regular clothes; part of it will be from receiving double points from the four (4) Grand Prix Series listed below that have joined together for the event; part will be the homemade soup and banana bread from Anne Patrick; part will be from possibly winning a race, possibly an age group award without running a single step – but the best part of the day will be the memory Board, where all will have a chance to write a message to friends and relatives that, as Anne Patrick says, have crossed the final finish line.
The first thing you’ll do when you arrive at Pitts Park (downtown Clarkesville, GA) after registering will be to fill out your finish card…yep, you heard correctly – fill out the finish card and turn it in before you ever take a step; then you go eat and fellowship with your running friends, and then sometime in the middle of eating, and with much fanfare, we will mix up all the finish cards and start drawing them – 1st card (male or female) is the Overall Winner, 2nd card drawn is first place in their age group unless they are the opposite gender of the person drawn as Overall Winner – then they would be 1st Male or 1st Female….and we keep drawing until we have our Male & Female Masters, and 17 male and female top 3 age group winners (lots of awards for not running a step!)
