We're sorry, but this class is over. The last meeting was Friday, March 31, 2017.
Study the fundamentals of improvisation through exercises that help to develop strong ensemble and character work. Develop stage presence as well as patience, self confidence, good communication skills, and a respect for other performers and their creativity.
Clowning is 50% physicality, 50% silliness, and 100% fun. Yes, that doesn't make sense, but when it comes to clowning and comedy, it doesn't need to! Kids will have the freedom of movement and self-expression in this class, while also learning about slapstick comedy and how to theatrically control their gestures. It's all about maintaining control while retaining musicality in a performance.
Explore the world of musical improv. Students cover the basics of singprov--from learning the art of "selling-it" to discovering the world of impromptu rhyming. Singers and non-singers alike will enjoy diving into short-form games, and even improvised musicals. No training in voice or music is required.
Come develop your personal style as a stand-up comedian as we focus on developing original material, stage presence, delivery and honing in on your sense of humor.
The building block of any Second City show are the sketch comedy scenes. Explore classic Second City scenes, use improvisation to develop scenes and write original sketches.
We would like to reiterate that due to the large number of students enrolled in each camp, we are not able to take pairing requests.
