Students will learn the basic modern upholstery skills needed to work inside and outside the classroom. Students will be guided through the steps of removing old fabric, cutting foam and fabric and upholstering furniture. Instructions will be given in minor repairs, webbing and tying springs. Most upholstery materials are provided. Plan to bring your chair/item to the first class. Tool need and fabric yardage will be discussed during the first class. Students are responsible for purchasing their own fabric. Furniture must be approved by the instructor. No sofas or recliners. Basic sewing skills are helpful, but not necessary. Only one piece at a time can be stored at the school while work is in progress.
