The wheelchair division follows the same10K course point to point, from Mt. Pleasant to downtown Charleston.

Starts before the run/walk at 7:25am.


Racers have described the wheelchair race, "A great race, at an almost 6% grade climb from Mt. Pleasant side over the largest suspension bridge in the Southeast. Followed by beautiful view of the harbor to take a quick breath before a great ride and left turn to the finishline."- Michael Mills



 This wheelchair division is open to athletes that meet 45 min. qualification and equipment standards. Push rim chairs only, no handcycles allowed.

Equipment is subject to inspection by officials.


This race abides by WTFUSA rules.


All racers must provide written/ e-file verification of an official 10K finish under 45 minutes within the last year to qualify for this event.

Event details and schedule

The Cooper River Bridge Run Wheelchair Division operates with it own staff and volunteers to coordinate this part of the main event. It is supported by the Executive Board of the Cooper River Bridge Run, Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, MUSC, and other local sponsors.


Athlete Housing: Limited number of hotel accommodations are being provided by our sponsors. Contact Kim for arrangements by MARCH 15th.

Packet Pickup & Pre race dinner: Friday, April 5th, 5:30 pm. Dinner Provided. Specific details for event will be given during this meeting. Attendance is highly encouraged.

There will be no race day registration or packet pick up!

 Race day information:

Athlete / equipment pickup will be in front of the hotel at 5:00 am, then taken to starting line. Start at 7:25, staging at 7:10. Everyday chairs will be taken to the finish line/ staging area.


Post Race: Enjoy the post race party and awards at 9:30 am in Marion Square. Awards and prize money will be given out at awards ceremony. Top finishers in each division must be present at awards.

Athletes/ equipment typically return to hotel immediately following awards ceremony.


Registered athletes will be updated by email on March 29th with any changes to the event.
