The Annual Cycling Classic is one of the longest running activities of the Carrigaline Lions Club and has been held every year for the past 22 years. The 2014 event will be held held on Saturday, October 11th and the destination is Kenmare. The Cycling Classic has so far raised over €600,000 for various charities over the years. Not bad for a fun event! Worthy beneficiaries include Marymount Hospice, ARC Cancer Support, Cork University Hospital, Carrigaline Senior Citizens, our own Youth Centre Project which is currently under construction on Church Road in Carrigaline. The main sponsor is Victoria Cross Cycles to whom we are very grateful.
To cater for as many participants as possible, cyclists can choose from three distance categories: 30km, 60km or 90km
Each participant must raise a minimum of €275. As well as contributing to our charities, this also covers the cost of Dinner, Bed & Breakfast in the Kenmare Bay Hotel as well as an event t-shirt.
Participants who do not wish to attend the dinner and stay overnight must raise a minimum of €80.
Transport back to Carrigaline for participants and their bikes will also be provided.
