10th Grade Confirmation students have the privilege of being taught by the Senior Rabbi, Assistant Rabbi and Cantor. During their classes, they are presented with powerful lessons which help them make personal choices that make Judaism meaningful in their daily lives. Class topics include separation of church and state, capital punishment, prayer, finding God, being a Jew behind the wheel, Israel and biomedical ethics. The Confirmation ceremony is a life cycle event at the conclusion of 10th grade. Confirmation students affirm their Jewish beliefs by building upon the B’nai Mitzvah experience and learning more about what it means to be a Jewish adult. This group experience allows students to confirm their commitment to the Jewish community. Confirmation classes are taught by the Solel clergy. Confirmation culminates with a service that celebrates students’ learning and highlights the affirmation of their Jewish identity.
