Join fellow watercolor artists at all levels to learn new techniques and further expand your
existing knowledge. Some of the topics to be covered are: stroke techniques; color mixing; use of value and perspective; composition; additional topics can be added as interest demands. Basic painting techniques and a quick survey of materials will be provided for beginning painters, while more advanced painters will work more independently.
Supplies: Paper: 100% cotton, 140 lb watercolor paper, either a tablet or one full sized
sheet (22 x 30?)
Paint: tube paint: ultramarine blue, phthalo blue, cadmium red, permanent rose, yellow and
burnt sienna. (Any artist quality brand is acceptable, of the student grade, please
do NOT buy Reeves. Most brands sell sets of 6 or 8 colors, these are generally fine).
Be careful to buy watercolor paint, not gouache!
Brush: round, size 10 or larger and round size 5-8.
Note: if you do not already have supplies and want to wait for first class, that is fine, I am happy
to loan you some.Instructor: Marty Clark
