The 2015 Rich Mueller Lions Golf Camp is designed for those golfers interested in playing on the collegiate level. The ideal camper and his family have an interest in learning how to take their game and academic profile to the next level. The Lions Golf Camp is unique because it emphasizes practice techniques; specifically, how to practice under pressure in order to prepare for the competition one faces in college golf. The program will address these goals by touching on the following four aspects: Instruction will prepare young men for college golf by improving scoring capabilities: swing analysis, short game management, course management, on-course instruction, practice strategies and drill recommendations. Golfers will learn how to create efficient practice sessions that simulate pressure situations. Player Improvement Discussions will cover nutrition, physical fitness and sports psychology. Discussions will teach players how to deal with stressful moments in tournaments. College Preparation will address the recruiting process including basic NCAA Rules, written correspondence, important dates, and deadlines for standardized testing. In addition to the “Finding the Right Program” quiz and analysis, we will cover other topics like study skills, time management and stress management. Competition - Students will participate in an 18-hole golf tournament and short-game challenge, which will help them assess strengths and weaknesses. Coaches will be interacting with players during the competition. Who is Eligible - Open to any and all of the first 16 male golfers who apply between the ages of 13 (must be entering 9th grade in fall 2015) and 18. Under NCAA rules, senior graduates may attend camp.
