About This Activity


•Event t-shirt at finish line. One t-shirt per competitor on relay teams.•Bibb number.•Bike and helmet number.•Swim cap.•Finisher medal. Relays: 1 per competitor. •Hydration stations throughout the race.•Electronic timing, race chip.•Online finisher certificate.Note: 2575 Mexico reserves the right to use photographs of competitors taken during the event for future publicity.


•Saturday, April 27th, 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. •Competitor must be present with photo ID and printed confirmation. •Each competitor is allowed to pick up his/her packet only, no exceptions. •No packets will be given on the day of the event or outside the time frame above mentioned.


•Starting times shall be announced in the pre-race meetings. •Preliminary results will be posted at the end of the event. Official results will be published on April 27th, 2013 at 5:00pm on the website.


•Trophy will be awarded to first three places of each age group category. •All competitors in the 9 – 11 age group will receive medal on the podium at the awards ceremony. •The awards ceremony will be held after the last competitor crosses the finish line.


A. Drafting is not permitted during the entire bike leg of the event.B. Competitors are not allowed to ride in the stream of another competitor or a vehicle. C. It will be considered drafting when the distance between wheels of two competitors is less than 7 meters apart or the distance from side to side is less than 3 meters. D. When a competitor is forced into the drafting zone of another rider, he/she is responsible for moving as quickly as possible out of this zone.


E. A rider may enter the drafting zone only to pass another rider for which he/she will be allowed 15 seconds to do so; if after this time frame the competitor has not yet passed the rider ahead it will be considered violation of the non-drafting rule. Penalization: •First call: 2 minutes added to overall time. •Second call: 2 more minutes added to overall time. •Third call: Competitor will be disqualified. Both wheels must be same diameter. Disc wheels are permitted in the event.


This event is endorsed by the Mexican Triathlon Federation. For that reason the following situations will be a considered motive for disqualification: A. Taking off outside the official starting area. B. Being ahead of the starting line before the event begins.C. Starting in a wave that doesn’t correspond to your age group.D. Not crossing the timing mats at the start, finish and transitions. E. Deviating from the official route.


F. Getting into a moving vehicle. G. Running without race number. (Must be in front at all times). I. Not returning timing chip at the finish line. J. Unsportsmanlike behavior toward any other competitor, judge or organizing committee member.


•Relay competitors must be at least 15 years of age, may be male or female and must have a minimum of 2 competitors and a maximum of 3.


•Bike drop-off in transition area will be held on Saturday April 27th from 2:00 to 9:00 pm. Place number on your bike and don't forget the format, both will be in your competitor bag. •Competitors must wear helmet to enter the transition area. •Transition Area will be open on race day from 5:30 to 6:30 am, only to drop off belongings. No bikes can be recieved this day.


•Competitors can leave personal items in the wardrobe drop-off on race day.•The wardrobe drop-off will be open until 12:00 pm.


•In the case of any category having fewer than 5 competitors such category will be included into the next category below. •Age of competitors on or before December 31st, 2013 determines the category. •Minors must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.•Competitors must be marked with their race number on legs and arms. •Marking will be held Saturday April 27th in the transition area from 2:00 to 9:00 pm. There will be no marking the day of the event.


•For everyones' safety, the cut off time will be 2hrs and 30 minutes. During this time frame all vehicle lanes will be closed off.• Swim leg cut off time is 30 minutes after each start. • Bike leg cut off time is 1 hour and 50 minutes after the first starting wave. Weather is typically very warm and humid, average 26.5º C. Water temperature: 25ºC. Please take extra precaution and hydrate properly prior to and during the event, apply sunscreen, wear light clothing.


All water stations will have water, ice and PowerAde. For the swim, a water station will be at the exit. During the bike leg each competitor is responsible for his or her own hydration. During the run there will be water stations at the exit of T2 and another two stations located throughout the route. Fruit and beverages will be provided to the competitors only in the recuperation tent at the finish line.
