The Second Annual Patriot Day Heroes 5K Run/Walk is a charity event hosted by the Wisconsin Army and Air National Guard from Volk Field ANGB to pay tribute to all firefighters and law enforcement officers who perished during the 9/11 attacks in 2001. All proceeds will be donated to the Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Hometown Heroes and The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
Event details and schedule
This event will take place rain or shine. Participants can gather at Nelson Park in Camp Douglas as early as 7:45 a.m. Opening comments and National Anthem will begin promptly at 8:35 a.m., followed by a moment of silence and procession of First Responders. Run/Walk will commence soon after. This year, there are two courses to choose from: Course 1 is a mix of road and trail, coursing through the bluffs of Camp Douglas with medium technical challenge. Course 2 is mostly flat through rural back roads of Camp Douglas. Two water stations will be positioned along the route. Parking will be available and marked. Your online $15.00 registration includes a cotton (male sized) t-shirt.
