February 01 - 22, 2020
505 Carroll St
DATES: 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22 Instructor: Emma Redmond In this 12-hour course, students will learn to design and hand weave their own tapestry wall hanging. Students will learn how to use traditional tapestry techniques and apply them to their design. Some basic techniques that will be covered are soumak, warp wrapping, knotting and chaining, twining, overlay and fringing in addition to some very light color theory. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. 4-week students have access to Open Studio time for free during the month of class and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
