Instructor: Natalie Stopka In this weekend intensive, students will learn the basics of Turkish Ebru/European marbling on fabric, including how to prepare a marbling vat and the best pigments to use for permanent prints. We’ll discuss the history behind European marbling traditions, then get colorful creating marbled monoprints. Small studies will be expanded upon in our large 4x4’ marbling vat, where students will have the opportunity to print yardage with their unique patterns! Materials will be provided by TAC, but students may bring up to 1 additional yard of natural fiber fabric if they wish. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Weekend Intensive class students have access to Open Studio time for free for up to a week after the class ends, to put their new knowledge to practice.
