This event is personal: Eileen Werndorfer of Brookfield, CT, has been battling Parkinson's Disease for almost fourteen years. She wanted to create something that brings awareness to a disease that affects over ten million people world-wide, raises money for research, and unites her community in her home town. One hundred percent of the race's proceeds go toward non-profits: Michael J. Fox Foundation for research, and Connecticut Advocates for Parkinson's to support people struggling with Parkinson's throughout the state.
The three-mile run will be a timed race around the block, starting at Brookfield Town Hall, down Federal Rd, and passing by the police station. The two-mile walk will take off in the other direction. ALL ARE WELCOME.
Come and celebrate hope with us at this event: TONS of raffles, water, snacks, and T-shirts will be availble. The first thirty people to sign up for the walk/run receive a complimentary Chick-fil-A card for a free sandwich in their welcome kit on the day of the event.
