About this event

Can a dog really help you with your hearing loss? Find out how Floyd, a specially trained hearing dog from Dogs for Better Lives, assists Brent Mershon with everyday sounds like telephone rings, door knocks, and smoke alarms. We’ll also learn what living with a service animal—at home and in public—is really like and the adjustments it requires. This class is made possible free of charge by: Dogs for Better Lives (dogsforbetterlives.org). Some questions we'll discuss: What’s it like to take a dog to a grocery or store? Can a service animal go into a restaurant? Why can’t I pet a service dog in public? How much does a hearing dog cost? What’s it like to travel with a service animal? Are people ever rude about having an animal in public? Note: While this class is free, pre-registration is required.
