Then, it’s onto the Diamond Way and the Macmillan Way as we gently undulate through the rolling countryside as we make our way over to the beautiful market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. There are also some lovely pubs and cafes so we’ll most likely do lunch here.
Here, there’ll be pause for lunch before setting off on the Heart of England’s Way before joining the Monachs Way as we skirt back through the Lower Slaughter and finally back through to Bourton on the Water where we can relax before dinner!

Day Two: Sunday
Bourton on the Water Lower and Upper Slaughter, Naunton
With the dawn of a new day, we are back out again! Leaving Bourton on the Water, we will follow the babbling brook once again, but this time follow it upstream and into the peaceful vale beyond. Now we are gently lifted above the valley where we cross into one of the finest of the Cotswolds Villages, Lower Slaughter.
Here we join the River Eye and is quietly meanders through and around to Upper Slaughter which is also a stunningly chocolate box village. A shady vale now rises to Eyford Knoll where we follow the ridge across to the lovely village of Naunton and a very friendly country inn. This lesser known village lies in a soft valley and it is this vale that leads us back to Bourton on the Water.
