Capoeira is a hybrid Brazilian martial arts combining dance, language, culture, rhythm and music as well as acrobatics and self-defense. Capoeira is true functional training in which all muscle groups are integrated with intense cardio which has been shown to be the most effective path to fitness by world class athletes and weekend warriors alike. Come experience the true spirit of Capoeira which welcomes all levels and abilities.
The classes are structured as follows: Stretching/warm-up and strengthening exercises.
Portuguese language is used during the class and you will learn numbers, movements, songs and basic vocabulary while training.
Also, we teach music and how to play specific Capoeira instruments: berimbau, pandeiro and atabaque.
Marcio "Mr. M" is from Porto Alegre, Brazil and started practicing Capoeira when he was 9 years old. Since then, Capoeira has been his lifestyle: learning, practicing, teaching, and applying the Capoeira principles as a way of life.
