You can register through Active.com or mail the registration form to Runabout Sports. The form can be found at www.runaboutsports.com and www.hokiehalf.com. The Hokie Half Marathon is limited to 3000 participants and the Hokie 5K is limited to 1000 runners and walkers. Registration fees go up October 1st to $90 for the Hokie Half Marathon and $30 for the Hokie 5K.
Course closes at 11:30am.
The Hokie Half Marathon has a four hour time limit for participants. The course will close at 4 hours (about 18:20 pace per mile). Those still on the course will be asked to board the bus that is picking up those who have yet to finish. Those who did not finish within the four hour cut-off can still participate in the post race food and festivities, however we will not give out any finisher awards to those who did not finish on time.
Packet Pick-up Policy
There is packet pick-up on race day starting at 6:30am and ending at 7:15am. Please make the appropriate accommodations to ensure you will be able to pick up your packet on Saturday (noon-9pm) at the Inn at Virginia Tech. You are allowed to pick up a friend's packet as long as you have a note from them to do so and a copy of a picture ID with their name. We will need a picture ID for all those picking up packets.
Their will be an expo at the Inn at Virginia Tech where packet pick up will occur. The expo will have all sorts of VT wear and also all things running. The Expo will run from noon till 9pm.
Cancellation and Transfer Policy
Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. We do allow the transfer of your bib number as long as it is done by September 8th, 2013. You can defer your registration for 1 calendar year. You must contact us at least 1 week before the event date to be able to defer. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The racing bib numbers will have a disposable timing chip and each bib will have the participant's name or nick name on their bib. We will print what you tell us to print on your bib number exactly as it is spelled on the registration form. Race management will not allow anything deemed unacceptable.
Race Day Parking
Start/ Finish line parking - those registering earliest will get the closest parking spots to the start and finish line. A parking location will be assigned to each participant. Those parking at Blacksburg High School will take a shuttle bus to the start. Shuttle buses start running at 5am and will run throughout the day with the last buses leaving the finish line at noon for the high school.

The proceeds from the event will benefit the VT Running Club, local schools and charitable programs such as March of Dimes, Micah's Backpack, Library for Literacy, and Friends of the Huckleberry Trail. A full list of charities will be listed when the event website is up and running.

All finisher's of the Half Marathon will receive a HokieBird Half Marathon finisher's medal.Awards to the top three male and female half-marathon finishers in each age division: 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-over.No ceremony for Age group awards. Age group awards will be at the awards table by the finish, stop by to claim your award after results have been posted.

October 11, Saturday: Packet pick up at the Inn at Virginia Tech from noon till 9pm. There is no race day registration.October 12, Sunday: 5:30am: Buses depart from the VT Chicken Hill parking lot (across from Lane Stadium) to the start. They run every 10 minutes. Those receiving parking pass A at packet pick-up will not need to take the bus as you will be parking by the start/ finish area at the VT Corporate Research Center.
