Note: This class will not meet on Independence Day's observed holiday, Monday, July 5, 2021. Upper School courses are offered by the CSG Summer Academy, but organized by IDEAS Summer Camps. Elizabeth Page, a CSG teacher will teach this credit course. THE COURSE: This course introduces students to basic techniques and principles of vocal study and oral speech. Classroom exercises will involve presentations of speeches both assigned and created by the student for working out individual presentational challenges. The student will discover their own strengths about public speaking, as well as learn how to develop confidence and self-awareness while speaking. SUMMER ACADEMY INFORMATION: The CSG Summer Academy is an opportunity for students entering grades 10-12 to earn academic credit or to pursue additional enrichment in a subject. Academic credit earned during Summer Academy can help students create a flexible schedule during the academic year. All credit courses are three weeks in length and daily attendance in credit courses is required to receive academic credit. Credit course offerings are divided into three-week terms. Credit classes must have a minimum of six students registered in order for the class to run. Space is limited and we do expect some classes to fill very quickly, so please register early.
