Kala Printmaking Studio
1060 Heinz Avenue 3rd floor
Learn the basics of screenprinting from start to finish to create prints on paper or even print on fabric! You will create your own design through digital and hand-drawn stencil techniques, then learn how to burn your stencil onto a screen. We will discuss photographic images, half-tones, multiple color layers, registration, split-fountain printing, experimental techniques, and more. Come prepared with a specific project in mind, such as an edition of four prints, a set of tea towels, or t-shirts! Students will leave with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of screenprinting, as well as a lot of art to keep, trade, or give as gifts! This is a great class for beginners, but also for intermediate students who want to expand their knowledge and keep on printing!
