What we have here is a Community Fitness Showcase. Now, what exactly does that mean? I'm glad you asked. It's all in the words used. First, COMMUNITY. The idea behind this competition is to bring the fitness community together to promote health and fitness, which leads to a happier life for ourselves and our children. Next is FITNESS. The word "Fitness" is used all too much lately, but we're defining it as an all-around ability to perform athletic movements. Anything from carrying rocks, to running, to swimming, to lifting weight, to gymnastics movements, and so on and so on. There will be ZERO people leaving this competition feeling left out on a strength OR weakness. Lastly, is the SHOWCASE. We want every person, gym, fitness affiliate, studio, etc. to put their particular skills on display for everyone in the community to see and to learn from. Not one of us is a perfect all around athlete, and we won't ever be, but we can sure learn from each other and narrow the gap a bit!
Make no mistake, this is a COMPETITION! There will be a winner!! The idea here is not to win something though. As such, there are no awards. If you are the winner, you get the pride of standing on top of a podium and declared the most all around fittest team as defined by our competition. It's a point of pride here.
So get your friends together (2 guys and 2 gals) to form a team, and show us what you got!
