Riding with other women is empowering! Either you want to learn some new skills or work on specific trails features, just want to meet other riders, or want to discover new trails, we are adapting our sessions to your goals and needs. Our rides/sessions are guided/coached by our women coaches only with a ratio of 1:6 maximum. AGE and SKILLS These sessions are for women of any age (no, really!), from true beginners to beginner riders. Our riders are divided into smaller groups of six maximum for a better experience, depending on their skills, fitness level and goals. The Women Beginner program is designed for those who have never mountain biked or have a year or so of mountain biking experience, and want to learn all the basic skills of mountain biking or refine them. Skills include: -Position and balance: stability, balancing, range of movement, neutral, ready and climbing positions -Operation of controls: efficient cadence, shifting technique, speed control, breaking -Terrain awareness: trail scanning, line choice, decision making, anticipation We also discuss gear and bike fitting during this class. All riders meet directly at trailheads but at different locations depending on the program. The Women Beginner program starts from Phil’s Trailhead for September rides and moves to the Welcome Center for October. Our fall programs run for seven weeks, weather dependent.
