What's Included

Learn the importance of what it means to sustain a healthy life and our planet by learning where and how healthy food is grown, the importance of using natural energy, recycling, creating natural functional art, team work, and a safe healthy home. We will partner with Bell County 4-H for this camp. An Eco Friendly Healthy Home Experience Solar & Wind Power! Did you know carpet could be made from water bottles? Discover recycled everyday products and new ways to use them. Learn herbal recipes for use in your home. Get practical safe recipes for using herbs and plants to make safe remedies and household products. Make your own soap! Crafts Kids will have the opportunity to make craft items. This may be a leather item, a basket, something made from wood or natural Earth clay pottery. Use natural dyes to paint. Growing Food Visit a working farm and learn about Organic gardening and the methods of growing food. Learn about insects and farm animals. Meet the Bee Lady! Meet and see how milk is produced from farm to table. Food Preservation Techniques Learn how to preserve all the fruit and veggies from the garden, including canning, juice making, and other techniques for storing healthy food. Preparing Food Bread making and baking. Butter making. Solar cooking. Learn about healthy meal choices and make delicious locally grown food recipes.
