This race raises funds for children in rural Mongolia to afford school costs for books and school supplies. Funds from this race assist children in Bellingham's sister city Tsetserleg, Mongolia.
This is a low-key,no-frills, 13.1-mile race. The race begins and ends at Fairhaven Park and turns around at the Clayton Beach Parking lot (two-person relay teams can station their second runner at Clayton Beach).
There will be two aid stations each direction and one at the end for a total of five water stations. Each aid station will represent another of Bellinghams Sister Cities, complete with costumes and national refreshments. There will be no timing chips.
