What's Included

Two of my favorite means of seeing and understanding nature involve riding, and writing. Riding bikes along mid-valley bike paths will take us to some of the greatest natural settings around Basalt, and writing will settle us in to see the small details and record our observations through creative writing activities. Each journal page will also incorporate water color, illustration, collage, pastels or tempra painting techniques. Participants must be able to ride comfortably at a RELAXED pace along paved paths for up to 20 minutes, and must be able to focus attention on writing projects for up to 20 minutes, 2 times per day (with guidance). Of course before we write, we have to share an experience worth writing about, so the week will be filled with games, treasure hunts, role plays and more! Class is Monday-Thursday 9:30-3:30 and Friday 9:30-1:30. Bring: Backpack (Hat, sunglasses, water, rain jacket, snack, lunch), bike (no smaller than 20″), helmet Provided: Journals, pens, pencils, project supplies, craft materials, games, and everything else.
