When coming back to running after an injury, it helps to be grateful for every mile. The next eight steps will guide you to a smart recovery.
Caitlin Chock is a freelance writer, artist and designer who covers all things running. She founded Ezzere, a line of running shirts she designs.
After setting the (previous) U.S. high school record for 5K, she joined the Nike Oregon Project to run professionally. In 2010, she was out running and struck by a hit-and-run driver; the doctors told her she would never run again. Refusing to accept that, she dreamed of the day she would once again be a runner, and set to work. Now running strong again today, she's using that experience to motivate and inspire other runners to never give up and follow their dreams.
Cait's channeled her knowledge and passion for running into art and writing. All of her shirts come with an inspirational message. She also published an instructional comic book for runners: Effective Mental Training: Race Faster by Out-Thinking Your Brain.
She has contributed to Running Times, RunBlogRun, Trail Runner Magazine, The Running Network and Competitor.com.
