The Statesman Capitol 10,000 is the largest 10K (6.2 mi.) race in Texas and one of the top 10 in the nation. In its 38th year, the Cap 10K will take place on April 12, 2015 in downtown Austin. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a beginner, come see why the Cap 10K is a rite of spring in Austin. Run it, jog it or walk it, just don’t miss it! Get your feet on the street!

One dollar from each registration fee goes directly to our 2015 race beneficiary. Registration includes race entry, shirt and race number with timing tag. There is no race day registration. All registration fee periods end at midnight (Central Standard Time).

Corporate Teams, Corporate Challenge
Employee company groups are encouraged to register as a team. Team can be started when group captain registers self and names company’s team. Corporate teams of 25 or more will receive a complimentary 10x10 tent with team name placard at the Finish Line Festival. Teams with 25 or more will also receive special group race packet preparation prior to race expo (pick-up time/date coming soon).
Social Teams, Open Social Challenge
Friends and family groups are encouraged to register as a team. Team can be started when group captain registers self and names social team. Social teams of 25 or more will receive a complimentary registration refund* for their captain. Teams with 25 or more will also receive special group race packet preparation prior to race expo (pick-up time/date coming soon).
School Teams, School Challenge
Student groups are encouraged to register as a team. Team can be started when group captain registers self and names school team. Teams with 25 or more will also receive special group race packet preparation prior to race expo (pick-up time/date coming soon).
We award Overall, Masters and Wheelchair winners. The top three participants in each age group will receive their awards in the mail when the official results are confirmed. The Statesman Capitol 10,000 Race Director tabulates all the results and all decisions are final. Age groups for Male & Female are as follows 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 & over.
Finish Line Festival
You finished! Grab some water from our volunteers as you exit the finish chute and head over to the Statesman Cap 10K Finish Line Festival. Enjoy a free massage, live music, freebies and food.
In 1978 the Statesman Capitol 10,000 started its first race and has been successfully running for the past 37 years. Austin’s oldest race, it has become a tradition for Texans and a rite of spring for Austenites of all ages. Beginning in 1993 the Cap 10K started donating proceeds from its event to local community non-profit organizations. The City of Austin Hike & Bike Trail received the first donation of $23,000. In 2006 the race made its largest donation of $201,452 to People’s Community Clinic and has exceeded the $2.8 Million amount in total donations to Austin’s community following the 2014 event.
