The Annual Ride of Celebration will start at the Julian Smith BBQ-Pit in Augusta, Georgia. The route distances are as follows:
- 10 mile mountain bike course
- 22 mile road bike course
- 342mile road bike course
Each ride is led by a Wheel Movement member. The ride will conclude with breakfast that is included in the registration fee.
Included with the Annual Ride of Celebration is a membership to The Wheel Movement of the CSRA.

Wheel Movement supports the local bicycling community. We recognize the lifestyle, economic, health, and tourism values of bicycling and provide educational programs, outreach initiatives, and advocacy efforts that generate and sustain a positive bicycling environment for all residents and visitors in Augusta’s River Region.
Wheel Movement (WM) is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer bicycling advocacy organization. It was founded in 2011 following the death of local friend and cycling enthusiast, Dr. Matthew Burke, who was fatally injured while riding his bike. It is through this tragedy that leaders of WM have turned their pain into mobilized passion, action, and new policy. WM aims to make road-sharing the norm and safe biking everyone’s priority. We exist to educate, advocate, and congregate as a community to make Augusta’s River Region a bicycle-friendly environment.Wheel Movement is a non-profit organization serving the cycling community by:

Group and fun, family-friendly bicycling events throughout the year.
Giving bicycles to kids and adults in need.
Promoting bicycle-friendly policies and position statements to local leaders.
Educating the community, kids and adults alike, on safe riding and road sharing rules.
Partnering with law enforcement to ensure cyclists and motorists are all following the laws.
Hosting regional and national programs to keep the Augusta River Region bicycling scene innovative and active.
Networking with local, regional, and national bicycling enthusiasts and service providers to stay on top of rides, races, and activities.
Event details and schedule
- The rides will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Please arrive early to get your bike ready.Check-in begins at 8 a.m.
- Please wear appropriate bike attire, including any reflective gear if available.
- Helmets are REQUIRED for all riders.
- Release is REQUIRED from all riders.
