Southeast MedWAR 2019

MedWAR is short for Medical Wilderness Adventure Race. It is a unique event that combines wilderness medical challenges with the growing sport of adventure racing. The race was also developed as a tool for teaching and testing the knowledge, skills, and techniques of wilderness medicine, and for promoting teamwork and collegiality among competitors. MedWAR is sanctioned by North American Educational Adventure Racing (NAEAR).

The Southeast MedWAR was the original MedWAR Race. Complete with simulated helicopter crashes, alligator-filed swamps, and ever-unique scenarios, it has continued to challenge competitors for over a decade. You never know what may be around the next turn.

The Medical College of Georgia is proud to host Southeast MedWAR 2019! Come race the oldest and largest MedWAR and put your fitness and medical knowledge to the test. Registration is open! Sign up fast, prices increase on 1/23 and 2/20. Registration will end on March 9th.

Capacity: 40 teams of four (4) at $260-300 per team.

Format: The race is 12-15 miles of running through various terrains. Racers will also mountain bike, kayak, and do some basic land navigation.

Camping is included in your registration fee at the race site in Fort Gordon.

CME/CE credits available! Email us if interested.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Teams: 40 teams of four (4) racers.

Fees: $260 until January 23rd, $280 until February 20th, and $300 until March 9th.

Deadline: March 9th, 2019. After this date, contact us. Entries may be accepted based on availability.

*You are welcome to bring and use personal gear instead.

Cancellation policy: Full refund until 4 weeks before the race. 50% refund until 2 weeks before the race. No refund less than 2 weeks before the race. Team members may be substituted at any time until check-in on Race Day but must notify the Race Directors ahead of time to be permitted to enter the base.
