What's Included

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a community Girls Who Code club again this year. Girls Who Code clubs offer computer science education and tech industry exposure to 6th-12th grade girls nationally throughout the academic year. This is an amazing opportunity for girls to become equipped with concrete technical skills that will provide the foundation for successful futures in technology. Girls Who Code at Generation Infocus will hold meetings every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm starting on January 12th, 2016 at the Generation Infocus Headquarters, 250 Georgia Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30312, Suite 208. Participation in Girls Who Code is absolutely free of charge. We only have a limited supply of laptops that we are able to provide for participants who may need them. We are asking that all participants who have their own personal laptop bring them so that they can participate in the club activities. Please feel free to contact Stephanie, our Project Coordinator, at 404-525-5561

About This Organizer

Generation Infocus (GI) is a STEM/Arts connection after school and summer project based learning organization which believes that positive social change and academic performance  acceleration can be achieved through hands-on minds-on STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Artistic Design and Math) focused programming. GI is redefining the focus of after school time and summer camp learning programming. We are committed to intentionally providing learning opportunities and career exposure that enhance students exposure and interest in STEAM focused 21st century job opportunities.

The progressive subject matter development of the five key areas of science, technology, engineering and math, with the inclusion of artistic design as an alternate perspective in which we appreciate the artistic elements of art present in STEM will catapult learning through the initiation of discovery! As an added unique approach we incorporate multicultural connections in our lessons, exposing students to global events and foreign language literacy in French and/or Spanish and/or Korean in connection with STEAM projects; dove tailing perfectly with dual language immersion programs.

We believe that through active STEAM engagement programming this generation will become the agents of change that our world needs. They will pioneer medical research that will save lives, create business innovations that boost the economy, and produce artworks that unite nations among many achievements. We believe in every child's ability to succeed and we know that we must contribute to their success.
