ANALYTICAL/CHIAROSCURO FIGURE DRAWING/ Bryan Thompson
Monday & Wednesday from 10A - 1P
December 5th & 7th 2 Days
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of figure drawing. During each class, students will learn how to construct the human figure by way of loose gesture drawings, break down the intricacies of the figure with primitive forms and constructive anatomy, and learn how to polish full figure and half figure drawings by implementing analysis of form and style. Students will be using Conte pencils on newsprint paper for their gesture drawings and sketches, and graphite on drawing paper for their longer sessions. Supplies will not be provided for this workshop. This class will have nude figure models. A model fee of approximately $15 - $38 will be collected on the first day.
Supplies: A set of Graphite Pencils that range in softness of 9B to a Hardness of H, Strathmore 80 lb Drawing Paper, Drawing Board, Kneaded Erasers, Retractable Pen style erasers, Blending Stumps

Chastain Arts Center will be mask optional for the Fall 2022 Session, but masking is encouraged.
Daily temperature checking will continue to be required.
