This two day class will introduce students to all the techniques of Windsor Chair making. The students will carve the scooped seat, drill and ream tapered compound mortises, cut matching tapered tenons, learn wet-dry construction technique, and sizing with hide glue. All of the work is done using hand tools. All the tools and materials are provided. At the end of the second day we will cover the finishing process with milk paint, oil and wax. After taking this class the students will have all the information needed to build a Windsor chair. There will be a 30-minute lunch break each day, so bring a sack lunch.
