Join us for our 5th incredible trip up and down the proposed route for the Firefly Rail Trail. We depart at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 19th, from the Jittery Joe's Roaster, 425 Barber Street in Athens - and closely follow the path of the planned Firefly Trail. The full out-and-back route is 85 miles, rolling through Winterville, Crawford, Maxeys, and Union Point. Shorter options of 60, 40, and 15 miles are available, making this a perfect ride for cyclists of all interests and abilities. Four great sag stops - all routes are fully sagged and supported.
Everyone who registers before March 19 and decides not to ride will receive: Firefly socks (while supplies last), Rider goodie bag, Membership in Firefly Trail and discounts at participating businesses. Beginning Mon., March 21, simply pick up your bag and Membership card from GA Cycle Sport Concepts, 1029 Baxter St., Athens.
Your funds and your participation go to help promote and support the development and completion of the Firefly Rail Trail. This route will be a real boon to riders, walkers, nature lovers, historians (the ride is named for the old Georgia Railroad that ran from Athens to Union Point), and the entire Northeast Georgia community.
All participants will receive one pair of cycling socks emblazoned with the spectacular Firefly logo, one ticket to our Rider's Raffle, WaterMan water for your bottle, one free serving of Terrapin beer (if you're 21), a great swag bag from our sponsors, a day of fun, and a big THANK YOU for supporting Firefly Trail! Again this year, Terrapin Beer and Your Pie Pizza will be available at the Jittery Joe's finish line!
