This fun community event is multi-purpose – not only to help raise awareness of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, the silent killer that took the lives of Carly Imbierowicz and Daulton Pointek on November 22, 2014, but to also help fund projects in the Octorara School District. This year’s funds will go towards an upgraded sound system at the stadium as well as help all school sport boosters and education scholarships.
All are welcome to participate - runners, walkers, children, families, etc. The goal of the run is to celebrate the lives of our loved ones and to cherish our memories of them; in addition, the run kicks off OA Best – a day full of activities for the whole family that highlights the very best of the Octorara School District and community!
Event details and schedule
The run is a non-competitive COLOR run! It is all about having fun with family and friends, while being showered with a rainbow of color throughout the course! It will start in front of the Octorara Intermediate School and wind its way through the 5k course used by the Octorara cross country team, so about 95% of the course is mowed grass, with about 5% on road. The start/finish area is right next to the parking area (in front of the Octorara Intermediate School), and will serve as party headquarters, with music, food, and drink!
Race day schedule: 7:30am registration opens; 8:50am pre-race rainbow shower; 9am color run begins!
