Connect with other nature lovers as you learn to experience nature in a new way. This online class includes group learning, independent practice in your own yard and opportunities to share your creativity. Don’t identify as an artist? Don’t worry! Nature journaling also uses writing and symbols, and it doesn’t require any special skills or tools. Each session, try out new nature journaling prompts that stimulate imagination, internal reflection, sensory observation and recognition of the details of the natural world. Through intentional nature experiences, activate both hemispheres of the brain and build deeper connections with the diversity of life around us. You must be able to access the outdoors to complete some of the activities in this workshop. Please have a notebook or a couple of pieces of blank paper (out of the recycling bin is fine!) and a pencil close at hand.WHO: Beginner and intermediate students will enjoy this class. Families welcome! WHAT: Learn about the joys of a nature journaling practice … and experience them, right in your own backyard. INSTRUCTOR: Libby VanWyhe has a Master’s degree in Environmental Education and has taught nature journaling for many years. She loves sharing her love of both nature and writing.
