The CapitolaMan is California Central Coast's first full distance triathlon, held on September 13, 2014. This Ironman distance race is the most beautiful course on the West Coast. The 140.6 distance is the premier race goal of all budding young triathletes. Our beautiful setting is going to be a favorite with non Ironman triathletes.
The 2.4 mile ocean swim takes place at Seacliff State Park Beach. It is a two loop triangular course. The swim can be viewed from the surrounding bluffs.
The well designed 112 mile bike route will keep the participants off major roads and highways as they ride through the agricultural fields of the Salinas Valley and the Santa Lucia Mountains on this out and back course.
The 2 loop, 26.2 mile run is designed to give our visitors an up-close experience of the beautiful and natural Nisene Marks State Park. This wonderful park of 2nd and 3rd growth redwoods provides a cooling cover and stunning backdrop to a soft, off pavement run. As the run gains only 900 feet elevation, it will be fast.
