This event is to help fund oxygen information brochures for people starting supplemental oxygen to educate them about their options so they can make informed decisions that meet their lifestyle and oxygen needs. We plan to distribute printed brochures to doctors' offices, as well as making a downloadable version available on our website.
This virtual race comes with a gorgeous butterfly medal. If you take a close look at the top part of the wings you'll notice that they are shaped like running shoes. The medal measures about 3.75 inches across the top of the wings and 3.25 inches down the sides. Parts of the wings are translucent so light will shine through. The wings are also hinged so they move.
You can also order a tech shirt with the butterfly design. The shirts come in men's and women's styles, short sleeve, long sleeve or tank top. The women's short sleeve also has a choice of v-neck or scoop neck. You can only add this option with the US medal category through July 31 to guarantee your size. After that sizes will be limited.
We want to thank our past participants by giving them a discount on what we think is a very cool medal. Past participants should have received an email giving them their personal discount code. The codes were determined by the number of events they've done with us in the past, along with meeting certain parameters for being a team captain as well as individual fundraising in past events.
This is a virtual race benefiting Running On Air. Our goal is to raise awareness of lung and rare diseases in general, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) in particular, and oxygen issues. Running On Air's founder has PCD and with 37% lung capacity requires oxygen when she runs.
This event in particular is to help fund oxygen information brochures for people starting supplemental oxygen to educate them about their options so they can make informed decisions that meet their lifestyle and oxygen needs. We plan to distribute printed brochures to doctors' offices, as well as making a downloadable version available on our website.
A portion of the profits from this race will also go to benefit the PCD Foundation.
For more information about us, our virtual races, PCD or to see where our founder, Mary, will be racing next, visit www.RunningOnAir.org or like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter (@Mary_RunOnAir) and Instagram (runningono2).
