Grades: 1st-5th. Discover the vibrant Mexican folk art of Alebrijes! These fantastical creatures spring from pure imagination, and are celebrated for their brilliant colors and complex patterns. Explore the intriguing history of Alebrijes and learn how these unique artworks were developed and how communities across Mexico have their own special techniques for creating them. Then, unleash your creativity as you mix and match different animals to invent entirely new creatures of your own. Through playful games and creative exercises, brainstorm and bring to life never-before-seen creatures using drawing and collage. Experiment with cool pastel techniques and learn how patterns can enhance your creation and bring your mythical creature to life! Instructor: Doodles Academy staff. 8 classes. No class 10/31.
