Basic Supply List: Please bring the minimum supplies listed below as well as any other paints, brushes, etc. you typically use. Paint in your choice of Oil or Acrylic. If you are brand new to painting, I recommend acrylic. Minimum colors include all primaries (red, yellow, blue, black, white). Naples yellow, yellow ochre, purple, orange, magenta, sap green, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson and turquoise are good extras. Brushes ? two rounds approx. sizes #4 and #12 or larger, one large flat or filbert approx. #10. Long handled brushes are typically used for oil and acrylic. For large canvases you may want bigger brushes. At least one Palette Knife ? approx. 2?-3 bent trowel with rounded tip about $6 at art supply stores - not plastic. Turpenoid solvent if using oils paints ? not for acrylic.Bring two canvases to the first class, one medium (approx 16?x 20?) and one larger. A palette ? disposable wax paper palette pads work fine (about $5 for a book of 50). Bring a gallon size ziplock bag to store used palette. An open container for water if using acrylics or a closed jar for turpenoid if using oils.A pen, pencil and sketch pad. A snack, drink and favorite music are optional. Paper towels.
