---Instructor: Rich Amada---Designed for the writer who has an understanding of the basic skills (covered in the beginners class), this course is the essential next step for those who are serious about developing their craft as writers for the stage or screen. Writers are too close to their own works to accurately assess whether a script is working the way it was intended. Only by hearing the script read out loud, and by receiving feedback to that reading, can the writer truly gauge which parts of the script are on target and which parts need more attention. To accomplish this, students bring to class scripts they are working on, and those scripts are given readings followed by class discussions of the works. Students learn not only from the critiques of their own works, but also by critiquing the scripts of others. Periodically, student works are given public readings featuring actors in the roles. (For those who are experienced playwrights or screenwriters, the beginners class is not a prerequisite to enroll in this class.) REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 7. Dates for classes: February 11, February 25, March 10, March 24, April 7, and April 21. Read instructor's bio at www.thelittletheatre.com.
