What's Included

Last Class is Showcase class held on Sunday, November 2nd in LTA's Green Room Students will strengthen skills and work toward performing a full-length improv show in front of an invited audience. Focus will be on creating strong characters, making and committing to choices, telling compelling stories, and working together. Completion of Improv Essentials required or permission of the instructor. Class size is limited to 12 students. INSTRUCTOR BIO: KEELY KIRK stepped into the improv abyss at a tender age and found a place to be herself. She began training with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv/sketch troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse until Hurricane Andrew blew it all away. She went on to be a principal performer for over ten years with Laughing Gas Comedy Improv --Miami's longest-running improv theatre company. She then decided that Miami was just too warm and balmy and moved to Chicago (the improv epicenter), where she was involved with and trained with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. While in Chicago, Keely decided to follow President Obama to Washington D.C., to become his presidential jester; however, due to government cutbacks, she was furloughed. Currently, Keely teaches two levels of improv at The Little Theatre of Alexandria. In addition, she performs improv around the country and conducts team-building workshops using the principles of improv with THEY Improv. Keely resides in Northern Virginia with her four-year-old daughter, husband, and dog, Chowder.
