About This Organizer

I CAN SCORE BASKETBALL PROGRAM

The "I Can Score" basketball program is designed to help players develop one on one skills needed to take their game to the next level and create the ability to score in game situations.

The fundamentals of being a scorer, whether in the paint or on the perimeter, revolve around footwork, shooting form, reading the defense and creativity on the move while handling the ball. Wanting to be a scorer and being a scorer are two different things. Being a scorer takes work.

The "I Can Score" program that Coach McKay has implemented is designed to develop the ability to put the ball in the hoop from every area of the court.

Wesmen players and coaches will provide 8-16 hours of on-court training.

2017 Session Dates
September - 10, 17, 24
October - 1, 29
November – 5, 26
December – 3

All sessions will be held in the Axworthy Health and RecPlex (2nd Floor Community Gym) or the Duckworth Centre Gym. A schedule will be provided.

WESMEN SUMMER CAMPS

The University of Winnipeg has over 40 years of experience with summer camps. We offer week long sessions in basketball, volleyball and girls soccer, as well as a multisport option. Due to popular demand, we are also repeating our outreach sessions in Kenora, Ontario.

Our campers will receive excellent instruction by our coaching staff and elite Wesmen student-athletes who are friendly, enthusiastic and committed to the improvement and wellbeing of each camper. A low player to coach ratio (6 to 1) allows for maximum individual attention. Campers are grouped by grade and ability for an equal mix of fun and skill development.

Everyone receives a camp shirt. Basketball, volleyball and soccer campers will go home at the end of the camp with a basketball, volleyball or soccer ball. Steve Nash basketball campers will receive a reversible jersey, bag, poster and certificate.
