About This Activity

The Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals, named BEST 5k/10k in the Midwest by Competitor Magazine in 2011 is a CARA registered and electronically timed race.  Race hosted by the Cosley Foundation to raise funds for the development and renovation of exhibits at Cosley Zoo.   Registration is available at packet pickup at the Community Center from 8am-8pm on June 4 and 5. 5k/10k: $38.  Zippity Zoo 1/2 mile run (ages 6-12) is $15. Race day registration is available at Memorial Park from 6am to 6:45am. 5k/10k: $40.  Zippity Zoo 1/2 mile run (ages 6-12) is $20.

One of the suburbs largest 5K/10K Run. First 2500 runners receive a long-sleeve tech t-shirt.  Post-race includes music, awards and refreshments.

Walking is permitted.  All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  Registration is only available online through active.com.

Safety: The runners safety is of the utmost importance. Therefore, bicylces, in-line skates, other-wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs) and dogs are not allowed. Strollers are also prohibited.

Packet Pick Up: Packet Pickup will be held on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5 from 8am to 8pm at the Wheaton Park District Community Center at 1777 S. Blanchard Road in Wheaton. Registration is available during packet pick up for $38 for 5k/10k and $15 for Zippity Zoo Run. Race day packet pick up will be available from 6am to 6:45am in Memorial Park. Registration on race day will be $40 for 5k/10k and $20 for Zippity Zoo.

Volunteers: Volunteers are essential to the success of the race. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and a breakfast. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Randy Tucker at rtucker@wheatonparks.org.

Course Details: The Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals is a USATF certified course. The course winds through the streets of downtown Wheaton. The 10K will include Northside Park as part of the route. A course map will be available soon at www.cosleyzoo.org.
