About This Activity

This activity is closed to further registration.

If you've ever wanted to learn how to knit, this is the class for you. Knitting is a fun and relaxing craft that allows you to make great projects that you can wear or give as gifts that will be treasured for years to come. In this class, you'll learn the two basic stitches, knit and purl, as well as casting on, binding off, finishing, and other basic knowledge you'll need to start knitting. Each class member will learn to knit a set of fingerless gloves and matching neckwarmer. You will need to bring your own yarn, knitting needles, and yarn needle. All other materials, including project patterns, will be provided.

Required materials: 2 skeins of yarn (can be the same color or 2 different colors), preferably worsted weight, and size 8 knitting needles. If you'd prefer, you can bring 2 skeins of bulky weight yarn and size 11 knitting needles. You will also need a yarn needle. These materials are all be available at stores such as Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Jo Ann's, and Walmart. If you have any questions about the required materials, you may contact the instructor at
